Lord's Realm Update

- Added to the Banking options, the option to deposit/withdrawl ALL funds.
- Added a random find of a bag of chance. Chances of finding it are 1 in 30.
- Fixed a few minor bugs.
- Added maximum bets you can play in the casino, everytime a user enters
the Realm, he/she will get 20 betting chances to use between the betting
parlours.
- Added a random chance of a robbery when entering the Underground. Chances
of an encounter are 1 in 30.
- Lord's Realm now logs when a user enters and exits the Realm.
- Lord's Realm now checks the filesize of the lordreal.log file and if it
is over 100k, then a new one will be created. You will not need to keep
an eye on the size of the log file size growing out of HD space anymore!

- If you are running RBBS or WWIV software, then set Lords Realm up as a
seperate door rather than from within LORD (3rdparty) because if you set
it up within LORD, it will not work properly because of nodenumbers that
are being returned. I do not guarantee anything if you go against this
advice.
- Please DELETE line #30 from your lordreal.1 file, it is no longer needed.
Sorry about that! :( (There should be 32 lines now.) I have taken out
the maximum minutes that you can give a user online.
- Fixed a tiny deposit gems bug.
- Lords Realm now reads in the timeleft from LORD dropfile. It will also
write the minutes left back to the dropfile.
- Added to the underground, the option to sell your fairy or to buy a fairy.
- Added to the store, the option to buy a horse.
- If Lords Realm is setup from within LORD (3rdparty), then the user will
be able to buy/sell a fairy. If it is setup as a door only, then there
will not be any options to buy/sell a fairy because the fairy data is NOT
stored in the players record at all, it is only stored in the dropfile that
LORD creates when executing to a 3rd party program. On my bbs, I have
Lords Realm setup as a door as well as a 3rdparty program from within LORD.
- Added to the underground, an option for the females: Sell A Child.
P.S. This option goes against my beliefs, it is not intended to be
discriminate or anything else, it is here just for the fun of the game.
- Fixed a small daily interest bug.
- Added more documentation to the doc file lordreal.doc.
- Don't forget, if you reset LORD or start a new game, you MUST delete the
lordreal.dat file.

- APPARENTLY, the lockups on 1 word names has been fixed, for good! :)
For those of you that are running Alias type bbs's.
- Added an UnderGround, tho you MUST find it in order to use it! In the
underground, you may view one of your enemies for a price.
- I have put the alias name change into the Underground menu.
- Added another line to the lordreal.1 file, line #31, which happens to be
the price in gold for a level 1 player to view an enemies stats.
(See the sample lordreal.1 file.)
- I don't know if anyone noticed or whether or not it was just me, but when
an alias name change was changed, it would copy the last record in LORD
to the user that is playing now, overwriting it. Causing the player not
to exist anymore and having 2 records of the last record.
This has been FIXED!
- Took out one of the nightly maintenance events of packing the database.
- Please delete your lr-edit.exe file, it is no longer needed.
- Added the option to the Underground, you can change the name of your
armour and/or weapon.
- Added 2 more lines to the lordreal.1 file, line #32, which is the price
in gold for a rename of a armour for a level 1 player, and line #33, which
is the price in gold for a rename of a weapon for a level 1 player.
So a level 10 player wishing to rename his weapon @10,000 gold for a level
1, then he would pay (10000 * 10 = 100,000) 100,000 gold.

- Added: If a players robs all the stores, whether he is successful or not,
then when he goes back to the main menu, there is a chance of 1 in 15 of
him getting caught by the police. If caught, he will die for that day and
will not be allowed to play LORD and his robbings are reset for the
day because he has paid for his crime. So he will be allowed to rob again
that day if he gets restored to life. And he also loses 1 time on per day
for getting caught at robbery.
- Lowered the amount of experience points lost when a unsuccessful robbery
from 12% to 5%.
- If a successful robbery then the player gets whatever times his level.
ie: If a level 9 player robbed and got 3 gems he would get 27 gems.
ie: If a level 12 player robbed and got 15,000 gold, he would get 180,000
gold. and so on...
- See the docs on setting up Lord's Realm for multi-node from a door menu.
- Buying any type of skill point is now based on the players level.
(See and read the lordreal.1 sample file and the lordreal.doc, because
lines 13-15 in the lordreal.1 has changed a bit.)
ie: 1 Mystical pt cost 5000 gold, a user on level 5 would pay 25000 gold.
- Buying stength, defense, hit points, charm or experience is also based on
the users level.
(See and read the lordreal.1 sample file and the lordreal.doc file, because
lines 8-12 in the lordreal.1 has changed a bit.)
ie: 1 Strength pt cost 5000 gold, a user on level 9 would pay 45000 gold.
- When a user changes his/her alias name, it now look or search for a duplicate
name that is already being used by another player and will not allow them
to use that duplicate name.
- Added a high - low game to the casino.
- Updated the Lr-Edit.exe file, copy that to your Lord's Realm directory.
- Well here is one of the biggest buggies I found. For those of you running
an alias bbs or allow users to logon with 1 name, ie: Sysop, Trex, Yahoo,
or Breaker and other 1 words like this. Well, when they go to play LORD,
LORD adds a space (' ') or a chr(13) to the end of their name. So when they
go to enter Lord's Realm, it cannot find them because Lord's Realm is using
their logon name ie: SYSOP and looking for that name in the database file
in LORD. It won't find it cause the name SYSOP was stored like this:
'SYSOP ' <- notice the added space that LORD adds. So anyways, I think I
have fixed this, it will now search the LORD database using the users real
name and it will also add a space or a chr(13) to the end of his name so he
will be found in the LORD's database. I sure hope you understood me here
because it took me a while to find this little nasty. If you find you are
still having problems with users with 1 logon name using Lord's Realm,
simply go into the LORD editor and look the up and retype in their real
name in all UPPERCASE. (Whew!)
- Added an option in the main menu to turn the <A>NSi On/Off for callers.
- If withdrawling from the bank your gold, it will check on how much you
have on hand and how much you wish to withdrawl and add them together and
if they total to 2,000,000,000 or more, it will not let you. I added this
because personally this much on hand is PLENTY and it saves on error
checking also. :)
- Added the option to sell your horse if you own one in the store menu.
- Maximun charm pts a person can have is 200. So if a user who has 195
charm pts, wants to buy another 10, it won't let him/her do it.
- In the casino, after each turn of gambling, it will now ask you if you
wish to play again instead of going back to the menu.
- Added a new line to the Lordreal.1 file. Line #30 is now the maximum
time in minutes that a user can be in Lord's Realm per usage. Leave it
to '0' if you wish to use his/her time remaining on the bbs. So if you do
change it to let's say '15', then each turn per day that he/she uses it,
he/she will be allowed 15 minutes for each turn. Turns are setup in your
lordreal.1 file on line 16. You can use this for multi-node usage if
you wish.
- Ok, the color codes have been suppressed when being displayed. So you
shouldn't see stuff like this: `#Joe `2Pelley, instead it will show like
this: Joe Pelley.

- Raised the number pick in the casino back up to 9. (Sorry!)
- Fixed a buying, depositing and withdrawing bug. Some people were putting
a negative number in. So please go thru the LORD accounts and check for
any negative numbers and fix them.
- Fixed the ascii insertion of alias names when changing one. It will
now only accept letters of the alphabet, numbers, spaces (' ') and a
hypen (-). Some users were changing there alias name to something like
this: 'ƒqσ', therefore, no-one could attack them because they could not
type in the proper name. Even a alias name change of just spaces will be
checked for!

- This version works with LORD v3.25.
- Added an internal maintenance run, so when the first user of the day uses
this door, the program will run a daily maintenance. A textfile called
Lordreal.mnt will be written and checked for, if it is not found then one
will be written, and if one is found then it is read and compared to see
if a mainteneance will be run. No need for the lr-maint.exe file anymore
so delete it if you have it and take it out of your daily or nightly events.
This will also keep a log of the last daily maint run in lordreal.log.
- I have added to the lordreal.1 config file: you can now change the amount
of gems, forest fights & human (player) fights a person can buy each day.
(See Lordreal.1 ).
- Added a restore to life. When a player dies in LORD, and enters this, they
have an option of being restored to life for a fee of 25% of their
experience pts. The player must have at least 4 exp pts for this to work.
- added a shop closed feature, there is a 1 in 3 chance that the bank, gym,
casino or the store will be closed for business.
- I have dropped the chance of winning in the casino, the pick a number from
a 1 in 9 chance of winning to 1 in 7.
- For those of you that wish to use Lord's Realm in LORD, please read the
Lordreal.doc file.

- Fixed some buying bugs in the Gymnasium.
- Lowered the unsuccessful robbery percentage rate to 12%.
- I have added to the lordreal.1 config file: you can now change the amount
of strength, defense, hit, charm & exp pts, mystical, thieving and death
knight skill pts that can be bought per day. ( See Lordreal.1 ).

- BETA TEST! Not Released Yet!
- If robbing anything is unsuccessful, player losses 15% of their experience.
- Chance of winning the lottery is 1 in 300.
- Chance of a successful robbery is 1 in 3.
- Limit the use of buying these from the Gym, a player can buy a maximum
of so many of these per day: (The 3 skills were set at 5)
strength pts........= 20
defense pts.........= 20
hit points..........= 50
charm pts...........= 15
experience pts......= 1000
mystical skills.....= 2
thieving skills.....= 2
death knight skills.= 2
The reason for this is because I have found that early in the game, people
were rising in skills too fast without doing much in the game.
- It won't let the player buy more skills than allowed. ie: If the player
has 36 maximum Mystical Skill pts, and he goes to buy 5 more, it will
tell him he is only allowed 4 more, because the maximum Skill pts a player
can achieve is 40.
- Fixed: Maintenance (Lr-maint.exe) when run once a day in your nightly events,
will add bank interest rates and will delete anyone that has been marked for
deletion. If anyone earns interest that will go over their bank account
limit, they will not recieve the interest.
- Added Lr-edit.exe: You can now search for any user and mark him for
deletion.
- The Pick A Number in the casino, a user may have unlimited turns or trys
at this, but I have set a bet limit of 10,000 gold and the payoff to be
10 to 1.
- Changed the <Q>uit To The BBS to <X>Exit to The BBS because all the other
menus are <Q>uit and I have found that one too many users hit Q too many
times and exit the door and then re-enter it.
- I think I have found all and any bugs. <G>
